Road users are warned of a temporary road closure of the N3 Toll Route near the Cedara interchange in KwaZulu-Natal, to allow Eskom to perform urgent emergency repairs to an overhead high-voltage electrical cable.
ALL North- and Southbound lanes on the N3 Toll Route near the Cedara interchange will be closed to traffic from 09h00 on Wednesday, 03 February 2021.
Eskom is expecting the repair works to take approximately one hour. Both light and heavy motor vehicles will be stacked at the road closure points.
Traffic is expected to be released intermittently at 15-minute intervals until the repairs have been completed and the road re-opened to traffic.
Road users are advised to prepare for traffic delays on both the N3 Toll Route and the R103 during the road closure period until the repair works have been successfully completed.
The Road Traffic Inspectorate (RTI) will manage the road closure and will be supported by all other law enforcement and emergency management services, including N3TC’s Roads Incident Management team.
N3 Toll Concession (N3TC), the company managing the N3 Toll Route between Cedara in KwaZulu-Natal and Heidelberg in Gauteng, appeals to road users for cooperation with the RTI and emergency services in order to assist Eskom with the speedy completion of this essential task.
