Premier of KwaZulu-Natal Sihle Zikalala joined by the MEC for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison, Ms Neliswa Peggy Nkonyeni, officially launched the October Transport Month Campaign today, Sunday, 03 October 2021 in eThekwini.
Premier Zikalala officially opened the R105 million King Cetshwayo Highway/Essex Terrace Interchange Improvement infrastructure project situated in the Westville area.
The Premier and MEC Nkonyeni will also be joined by the Mayor of eThekwini Cllr Mxolisi Kaunda. The project was triggered by the new and future developments in the area which includes the Westwood Shopping Centre, residential developments near the shopping centre, student accommodation and the rezoning of residential properties to businesses.
Premier Zikalala and MEC Nkonyeni participated in a multi-disciplinary law enforcement operation, which was part of demonstrating strength in fighting crashes and fatalities on the road.
