A construction worker was airlifted to hospital after falling from a height of 20 metres at Riversands

Just after 15h30 on Tuesday afternoon Emer-G-Med Paramedics responded to the scene of industrial premises in the Riversands area.

Reports from the scene are that a male approximately thirty years of age was working at a height of approximately twenty meters when he fell, sustaining critical injuries.

Emergency Care Practitioners worked fervently to stabilize him before a decision was made to airlift him through to a specialist facility with the assistance of the Netcare911 aeromedical helicopter for the definitive care that he required.
