The new Vereeniging road and bridge have been opened in Mangaung

Motorists hooted in excitement as they drove on the Vereeniging Road and Bridge for the first time.

Acting Executive Mayor, Cllr. Gregory Nthatisi joined by Member of the Mayoral Committee for Infrastructure and Engineering, Cllr. Vusi Soqaga opened the road this afternoon to allow motorists access.

The road which interlinks the town and the township will is now accessible to the residents of Mangaung.

Cllr. Nthatisi explained that though residents can use the road, the official opening and handover of the road will only be in June. He urged motorists to drive with caution as there are still contractors on site dealing with the finishing touches.
