The main design scope covers the reconstruction and upgrade of the existing N3 Mainline Northbound/Southbound carriageways and includes:
- Construction of 3 additional lanes in each direction, along the full length of this section of N3.
- Space for the inner fast lane in each direction will be created by using the existing median.
- Widening on the outer edges of the carriageways to provide the additional slow lane and climbing lane required.
- Full reconstruction of the existing N3 pavement layers.
- Interchange improvements to ramps and crossroads.
- Lengthening of underpass structures (bridges).
- Construction of auxiliary lanes at on- and off-ramps, on the outer edges of the existing carriageways.
