The Johannesburg Development Agency (JDA) is set to kick off the Rivonia-Katherine Corridor Road Strengthening Project, a key part of the City of Johannesburg’s Rea Vaya Bus Rapid Transit Phase 1C infrastructure rollout.
Where?
Katherine Street (1.7 km stretch) between Rivonia Road and Pretoria Avenue in Sandton’s Ward 103 and Ward 91.
What’s happening?
Upgrades to strengthen the road for bus traffic and long-term durability, featuring:
- Traffic accommodation
- Road signage & marking
- Roadside drainage maintenance
- New road pavement layers and sidewalks
When?
Traffic impact begins 27 January 2025 for a construction period of 10 months.
