Overhaul procedures done by Mossel Bay Fire, Rescue and Disaster Management crews at Mikeva Hyper, where a structure fire occurred on Tuesday, 27 May 2025, are completed for now. Fire crews are retrieving and making up equipment, preparing to hand the scene over to the South African Police Service.
The property owner, along with an insurance assessor and structural engineer, is on site to determine the safety and condition of the gutted structure. Incident command is scaling down, and fire crews will be leaving the premises shortly.
