Following today’s oversight visit, Minister of Water and Sanitation Pemmy Majodina, GP MEC of CoGTA Jacob Mamabolo and Executive Mayor Nkosindiphile Xhakaza inspected progress on the Mapleton Upgrade Project – a critical investment to boost water supply capacity for Gauteng and the City of Ekurhuleni.
Key upgrades include
- New Engine Room 3 & Disinfection Plants (chlorine + ammonia)
- Cross connections on B16 & S4 pipelines
- Installation of magflow meters & flexibility valves.
These upgrades will ensure greater pumping capacity and water reliability for Ekurhuleni and beyond
