An articulated truck lost part of its load after it collided with a stationary vehicle at the R102 & Vincent Dickenson Road robots in Canelands – KwaZulu-Natal, a short while ago (13:43, Thursday).
A 63-year-old female sustained moderate injuries after the Mercedes-Benz truck collided into the rear of a silver Toyota RAV4. The elderly woman was a rear passenger in the vehicle. The truck was transporting building blocks and lost part of its load.
Passing motorists contacted Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) requesting assistance at the scene. On arrival, Reaction Officers discovered damaged blocks strewn across the road. The articulated truck stopped approximately 200 meters from the point of impact. The driver stated that his brakes failed and he was unable to stop the truck.
The injured female was transported privately to a medical facility.
