In response to unprecedented growth and sustained demand for premium private education in the KwaZulu-Natal North Coast region, construction has begun on a world-class new Preparatory School at Reddam House Ballito.
Following the successful expansion of the Early Learning School (ELS) in 2021, this new development marks the next phase in the Inspired Education Group’s long-term vision for the campus. The R80-million project officially commenced on 12 May 2025 and is set for completion in December 2025.
Designed by The Architectural Cubicle and constructed by Indlovu Construction (Pty) Ltd, the facility will accommodate an additional 300 students and support the school’s commitment to offering a holistic, future-focused learning environment. The architectural brief was guided by Inspired’s global educational principles, with a focus on interactive, experiential learning spaces and flexible-use classrooms.
The new Prep School will include a Metaverse Room for immersive digital learning; dedicated studios for dance, drama, art, and STEAM and design/technology; a resource centre; academic support venues; and 13 classrooms. A spacious canteen and dining room will cater to the school community, while a striking double-volume open piazza at the entrance will serve as both a welcoming hub and a collaborative learning space. The building has also been designed to accommodate future expansion as demand continues to grow. The building has been purpose-designed to allow for future expansion, ensuring scalability in line with the continued growth of the Ballito area.
Commenting on the expansion, Catherine Raw, Executive Head of Reddam House Ballito, said:
“This expansion is not just about accommodating more students – it’s about enhancing the depth and breadth of our educational offering. The new Prep School will provide a dynamic and stimulating environment that encourages creativity, critical thinking and holistic development.”
Reddam House Ballito opened in 2019 and quickly established itself as one of the most sought-after schools in the region. The new development is a testament to its reputation for academic excellence and innovative learning, underpinned by Inspired Education Group’s international standards.
Ravi Nadasen, CEO of Inspired Education Group South Africa, says, “Reddam House Ballito has seen phenomenal growth in just a few years. This expansion reflects both the strength of the school’s leadership and the trust placed in us by the Ballito community. We are proud to support this next chapter.”
