Gravel roads transformed into surfaced streets with stormwater drainage at Pimville Zone 9

The Pimville Zone 9 gravel road upgrade projects, implemented on behalf of the City of Johannesburg’s Human Settlements Department, are transforming gravel roads into surfaced streets with stormwater drainage. These upgrades follow the City’s Complete Streets concept, designed to:

• Support walking & cycling
• Integrate public transport
• Create safer, more livable communities

We’re building multi-modal transport systems to better connect communities and improve the quality of life.
