More than 1000 young people attended the Open Day and Exhibition organised by the MEC for Transport and Human Settlements, Siboniso Duma.
Duma remarked in Merebank: “As the department, we want to prepare them to take charge of the construction of roads and bridges.”
“Having turned KZN into a construction hub, we want to see their maximum participation and visibility in the repair and maintenance of more than 34,000 kilometres of road networks across the province.”
“We are relentless in our efforts to build KwaZulu-Natal to be a prosperous province.”
“But, without the energy, the skill and vibrancy of young people, this will remain a pipedream.”
“It is for this reason we want young people to join the department and take charge of the infrastructure revolution.”
