Gauteng: At 14H51 Friday afternoon Netcare 911 responded to reports of a crush injury at a construction site off Arkansas Crescent in Cosmo City Randburg.
Reports from the scene indicate that an adult construction worker and his colleagues were laying pipes when one swung out slamming into his chest.
Medics assessed the patient and found that the had sustained serious injuries and required Advanced Life Support intervention to stabilise him.
A Netcare 911 Rescue technician as well as fire and rescue crews were called to assist in removing the patient from the three meter deep trench.
Once treated the patient was transported by ambulance to hospital for further treatment.
