This morning at approximately 8 am, Kwazulu Private Ambulance Service responded to the N3 Camperdown, Durban bound, for an accident.
When paramedics arrived they found that a road construction worker had been hit by a car travelling towards Durban.
When paramedics assessed the patient they found the patient to be in a critical condition. Having sustained critical injuries to his head, chest, abdomen and legs.
Paramedics worked to stabilize the patient on the scene as they activated Lenmed 1 medical helicopter.
RTI closed the N3 while the medical helicopter landed to load the critical patient from the scene and transport him to a specialized hospital for further treatment.
