The Steel and Engineering Industries Federation of Southern Africa (SEIFSA) has been very vocal in articulating the concerns of the sector in the media and with various influential stakeholders, including the Government.
The next round of industry negotiations is due in 2024 and SEIFSA is working hard to ensure that these negotiations are not a repeat of 2021. The settlement agreement reached next year will need to be realistic and informed by the current state of our economy and our sector, and preferably without another round of industrial action.
An affiliation to SEIFSA, through an employer association, provides immediate access to a range of professional product and service offerings as well as a direct line of communication into SEIFSA to insist that any deal struck next year is reached with minimum disruption.
SEIFSA, a National Employer Federation, represents the views of its 18 independent Employer Associations in the metal and engineering industries, with a combined membership of more than 1,200 companies employing over 170,000 employees. Through its affiliated Employer Associations, SEIFSA has a presence in the Western Cape, Eastern Cape, KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng.
The Federation, which celebrates its 80th anniversary this year, is the most authoritative voice of the metals and engineering sector and has the best interests of its all members at heart.
