The Limpopo MEC for Public Works, Roads and Infrastructure, Ernest Rachoene, has today led the #DikgerekgereWednesdays service delivery initiative on D1347 road outside Lephalale, in the Waterberg District, as part of the Department’s ongoing drive to improve road infrastructure and enhance service delivery across the province.
The activation focused on routine road maintenance, including re-gravelling and basic road works, aimed at improving road safety, as well as ensuring smoother travel and extending the lifespan of the road, particularly during the rainy season.
MEC Rachoene was joined by members of various traditional councils, including the Maeteletsa Traditional Council and members of senior management of the department.
The MEC started his day in the area by taking #OperationTsogaMoshomi initiative to the Marken Cost-Centre to monitor punctuality and reinforce a culture of discipline, accountability and professionalism within the public service.
Through #OperationTsoga Moshomi, the MEC continues to encourage public servants to take pride in their work and uphold the Batho Pele principles.
MEC Rachoene reiterated that visible leadership and consistent monitoring are critical to accelerating service delivery and ensuring that government programmes respond meaningfully to the needs of communities.
“These initiatives demonstrate our commitment to hands-on leadership, accountability and improving the quality of services we provide to the people of Limpopo,” said MEC Rachoene.
The Department of Public Works, Roads and Infrastructure remains committed to maintaining road infrastructure and strengthening internal governance systems to support efficient and effective service delivery.
