Gift of the Givers, Gauteng Department of Health, CMJAH management, and staff came together to unveil the plaque and cut the ribbon, officially opening the R60 million Stores facility.
Dr Joe Phaahla, Minister of Health, participated in the inauguration of the R60 million Stores facility at CMJAH, fully financed by Gift of the Givers.
During the tour of the newly built R60 million facility, various features were highlighted, including built-in systems for fire detection, sprinkler systems, fire-resistant materials, 24-hour security, specialized rooms for securing high-end equipment and consumables, motion sensor lights, antimicrobial floors, office space, ablution blocks, personalized security access, a practical racking system, and many other amenities.
The Stores facility features large water tanks capable of releasing 900,000 litres of water instantly upon activation of a fire alarm from any location within the 3500 square meter building.
Importantly, this fire suppression system remains unaffected by load shedding. Fire precautions have constituted a significant investment within the R60 million project.
The construction team, including engineers, fire consultants, architects, health and safety officers, electrical engineers, and project managers, successfully adhered to the budget and completed the project within the designated timeline.
Their professionalism and meticulous approach were evident as they tackled every aspect of the development.
