The Executive Council of the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Government today hosted Operation Sukuma Sakhe (OSS) Cabinet Day at Umgungundlovu District Municipality on Wednesday, 26 July 2023.
MEC for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison Sipho Hlomuka was deployed to Ward 13 in Umsunduzi Local Municipality.
Hlomuka was accompanied by Umsunduzi Local Municipality Deputy Mayor Mxolisi Mkhize and Ward 13 Councillor Sibongile Mncwango.
They visited the war room where they were briefed on issues affecting the community.
Challenges affecting Ward 13 include unemployment, high levels of crime, water and sanitation and lack of electricity due to damaged infrastructure.
MEC Hlomuka and the delegation visited various projects including inspecting the France Community Hall which is near completion and introduced interventions that would ensure the implementation of key government services needed by the community.
