This serves as an informational notice that construction work has resumed on the N1 North, on the Bloemfontein side, affecting the section from approximately 25 km before the Verkeerde Vlei Toll Plaza to 5 km before the Verkeerde Vlei Toll Plaza.
Traffic arrangements:
• Contraflow lane closures will be implemented within this section.
• Three (3) contraflow sections are planned along this route, each approximately 3.5 km apart.
• These closures are expected to have a significant impact on traffic flow and travel times.
Commencement date:
📅 Tuesday, 06 January 2026
If weather conditions remain favourable, the project is expected to be completed by March.
Motorists are advised to plan accordingly, allow additional travel time, and exercise caution when travelling through the affected area.
