The refurbishment of the Meadowlands Rea Vaya BRT Depot marks an important investment in the long-term resilience of Johannesburg’s public transport network.
First opened in 2008 as the very first Rea Vaya depot, this facility has supported the daily movement of thousands of commuters for over a decade.
Today, the JDA, on behalf of the City of Johannesburg’s Transport Department, is upgrading and modernising the depot’s core infrastructure – from workshops and fuel facilities to lighting, safety systems and operational spaces.
