The Mossel Bay Municipality is making headway during Transport Month, this October in seeing to it that the streets in the central business district are kept in good condition.
Motorists have been showing commendable patience during the road construction taking place along Bland Street. Contractors commenced with the replacement of damaged kerbs, the milling and replacing of the existing 40mm asphalt surfacing, and the referencing and reinstating of road markings. The affected intersections include Bland Street from Meyer Street to George Road/Church Street intersection, as well as the intersection at the corner of Marsh Street and Church.
The work is expected to be concluded within the next two weeks.
During the construction period, the following traffic accommodations are applicable:
- Bland Street from Michell Street to Church Street will be one-way traffic
- Work at the intersection on the corner of Church Street and Bland Street, as well as the intersection on the corner of Church Street and Marsh Street, will be done at night.
