The planned water supply management at the Russel Road reservoir in Germiston continues as initially announced.
The periodic water supply interventions to manage demand and maintain adequate water levels will continue as follows:
▶️Monday to Tuesday: Full supply to industrial areas until 10pm
▶️Wednesday: Full supply to residential areas until 10pm
▶️Thursday to Friday: Full supply to industrial areas until 10pm
▶️Saturday to Sunday: Full supply to residential areas until 10pm.
Affected areas are:
➡️Industrial: Wadeville, Roodekop, Cruywagen
➡️Residential: Dinwiddie, Albermarle, Norton Small Farms, Castleview.
Construction of an additional 22.5 ML precast water reservoir adjacent to the existing Russel Road reservoir is now in its final stages, with approximately 90% of the work completed.
The new reservoir will increase the total storage capacity in the area to 40.5 ML, enhancing water storage and improving the reliability of supply and distribution to both residential and industrial customers.
Residents and businesses are encouraged to continue conserving water during this period to support supply management efforts.
