Industry will have the opportunity to connect and engage with the Steel and Engineering Industries Federation of Southern Africa (SEIFSA) during its national roadshow in November.
The last time SEIFSA went on the road was in 2014, and much has changed in the past 11 years, including the Covid-19 pandemic, two Donald Trump administrations in the US and the formation of a government of national unity in SA. The roadshow takes place as South Africa prepares for the 2026 local government elections, while businesses continue to face electricity shortages, water challenges, and ever-rising costs locally; on the global arena, tariffs are reshaping trade and conflicts in the Middle East and Europe add to uncertainty.
“This roadshow is about reconnecting. It is about hearing about members’ concerns and expectations and sharing how SEIFSA is working to ensure the metals and engineering sector has a strong voice at the table,” says SEIFSA Marketing, Sales and Communication Executive Nuraan Alli.
Some of the topics that will be touched on include collective bargaining, South Africa’s economic outlook for 2026, the importance of investing in human capital, labour market reform, and what lies ahead for SEIFSA as it reinvents itself.
SEIFSA CEO Lucio Trentini will open each roadshow with a big picture view of the collective bargaining landscape going into 2026, and CEO-designate Tafadzwa Chibanguza will provide insight into the economic outlook and climate as we close out 2025 and prepare for the year ahead.
There will also be input from Zizile Lushaba Nyawo, Human Capital and Skills Development Executive; Vuyiswa Miya Mokwana, Industrial Relations Executive; Mariaan de Jager, Finance Executive; and Nuraan Alli, SEIFSA Marketing, Sales and Communication Executive.
A question-and-answer session will conclude each of the events, where all the speakers will be available to engage directly with the audience.
