A truck carrying cement lost control and overturned on the N1 North at Ysterberg near the Ranch Resort, causing significant disruptions to traffic flow. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported in the incident.
One lane of the N1 North from Mokopane to Polokwane is currently closed due to the accident.
Traffic is being diverted to the R101 for motorists travelling from Mokopane. Officers are on the scene, controlling and monitoring traffic while waiting for the road to be cleared.
Preliminary investigations suggest that a tyre burst led to the driver losing control of the truck.
Motorists are advised to exercise caution and plan their trips accordingly to avoid congestion. Alternative routes, such as the R101, should be considered for those travelling from Mokopane.
