Work is still underway to temporarily create a path of way at the Kgapane road, which has caused devastation to residents and motorists after it collapsed due to the heavy rainfalls.
The Mayor of Greater Letaba Municipality, Cllr Dagma Mamanyoha, made a commitment to find a way to create a temporary path that will allow motorists to use the road whilst the Department of Public Works, Roads and Infrastructure finds a more permanent solution.
The Mayor visited the site of the incident immediately after the road collapse.
A municipal team was immediately dispatched on site to start work.
Residents and motorists are still warned not to use the road, as safety cannot be guaranteed yet. It is still a work in progress.
The Politsi Route is still the safest route to use until work has been completed.
