Four people were injured in a structural collapse at an upmarket coastal estate in the Ballito area

IPSS Medical Rescue and IPSS Search and Rescue responded to reports of a structural collapse at an upmarket coastal estate in the Ballito area.

On arrival of paramedics and rescue personnel, it was established that the deck of a holiday home had collapsed resulting in four people sustaining injuries ranging from serious to minor. Two seriously injured patients were stabilised on the scene by IPSS Medical Rescue Advanced Life Support paramedics before being transported to a nearby facility for further care. The two people who sustained minor injuries opted to go to the hospital privately to be checked up.
