Several individuals have been rescued from the debris of a four-storey temple that collapsed in Redcliffe – KZN.
An extensive rescue operation, coordinated by Disaster Management, is currently (Friday, 14:58) underway for individuals who were trapped under the debris. The structure collapsed on construction workers and other individuals during a ready-mix pouring operation. Several individuals have been rescued. An unconfirmed number of people are still believed to be trapped.
The Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Drone Pilot conducted aerial surveillance of the collapsed building to assist Rescue Technicians in assessing the extent of the collapse.
Heavy lifting equipment has been brought in and is on standby to assist in the operation.
